R S Ramakanth is presently a Senior Lecturer in Biology in Bangalore Mahanagara Palike Junior College at Cleveland Town, Bangalore. He has been a member of the current syllabus framing committee. He hails from a distinguished family of scholars and musicians and is himself a noted classical musician. He also inspires students with his interests beyond Botany.
