Prof C Ramani Nair has been teaching Economics for over 35 years which includes teaching at the post graduate level for the past ten years. Presently, she is with Maharani’s Arts College for Women, Bangalore and has been associated with the Reserve Bank of India as a faculty for SC / ST coaching classes. She was the recipient of the State level 'Pancharathna' award for education in 1999. She has many papers published in economics and education in various journals and forums. As Principal, she has served as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Academic Staff College and College Development Council, Bangalore University. She is also on the Advisory Body of Oceanik Times, a journal devoted to education. She is currently member of the Board of Studies (UG), Mysore University.

She was co-investigator for a major research project on sericulture, which was completed in 2002. She is currently Principal Investigator for a minor research project on “non-conventional energy” and also works as a co-investigator in a second major research project all of which are UGC sponsored.
