Dr. T. R. Seetharam, currently working as Professor and Head of the department of mechanical engineering, and Director, Research and Development at PES Institute of technology, graduated in mechanical engineering from University of Mysore. He subsequently got his Masters Degree in mechanical engineering from IIT, Kanpur and Ph.D degree in mechanical engineering from IIT, Bombay. He has over 30 years of experience in teaching Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer for UG students in National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore, SASTRA (a deemed University) Tanjavur and Global Academy of Technology (GAT), Bangalore. He has guided a number of UG and PG projects and at present guiding one Ph.D student in the area of thermal management of electronic equipment. He has won the best engineer cum teacher award of Institution of Engineers, Mysore Chapter and best teacher award instituted by NIE Alumni Association. He has served various academic bodies in various capacities such as Dean, Faculty of Engineering; Chairman, Board of Studies in Mechanical Engineering; Chairman, Board of Examiners in Mechanical Engineering,  University of Mysore;  Member, Research Council of CFTRI, Mysore; Member, Selection Committee to select scientists at CFTRI, Mysore; Member of the expert committee of NBA, AICTE, New Delhi; Member, Local Inspection Committee of VTU, Belgaum, etc. He has been Principal, NIE and GAT for four years each.

Dr. Seetharam's present interest are Numerical heat transfer, Appropriate Technology for sustainable development and energy system analysis.
