T S  Nagaraj, B.E. (Mysore), M.E. (IISc) Ph.D. (IISc), DSc. (IISc), is Professor Emeritus of Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He is presently Adjunct Professor, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA; Research Advisor in Civil Engineering Division of Materials Research Center of R V College of Engineering, Bangalore under UGC – Emeritus Fellowship. So far, he has authored and co-authored over 275 technical papers in national and international journals and conference proceedings, and three books.

T S Nagaraj served as Guest Professor at Institute of Soil and Rock Mechanics, Karlsruhe, Germany during 1977 – 78 under Sr. von Humboldt Fellowship, Visiting Professor at University of Calgary, Calgary Canada in 1985 – 86, JSPS Fellow in Japan during 1995 and Visiting Professor at Institute of Lowland Technology, Saga, Japan, during May – Dec, 1996. He is the recipient of IGS – Kuckelman Award – 1991 and CBIP – Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru Birth Centenary Research Award – 1992. He has been the prestigious Indian Geotechnical Society Annual Lecturer – 1993. He is the Elected Fellow of Indian National Academy of Engineering.
