S N Yoganarasimhan retired as Senior Research officer and head, Medicinal Plants division, Regional Research Centre, Bangalore. He is currently engaged in assisting the Plants of India Database project at Ashoka Trust for Ecology and environment, Bangalore. He was awarded the Hari Om Gold medal in 1979 for his work on Herbal research. He has had more than 38 years of research experience in various organisations in the fields of Floristics, Plant Taxonomy, Medicinal Plants, Pharmacognosy, Phytochemistry.
