In the previous unit we have discussed that rights are those conditions or opportunities provided by the state for the development of individual personality. In a democratic society citizens enjoy different kinds of rights. The rights enjoyed by the citizen are broadly classified into two
categories moral and legal. The legal rights are further sub-divided into civil and political rights. In addition to this there are certain fundamental rights which do not fall in any of the above categories but-which are nonetheless indispensable for the growth of an individual's personality.
