A head is a feature of all bilaterally symmetrical animals. The term 'cephalization' is defined as the process of formation of a head. In those forms, that exhibit radial symmetry like the poriferans, coelenterates and echinoderms, there is no demarcation of the head region. Arthropods show the highest degree of cephalization.
