The term 'Entry' has been defined in the Random House Dictionary of English Language as, "the act of recording something in a book, register etc.," In the context of library, it refers to the description of document. CCC defines an Entry as, "an ultimate unit record in a catalogue". It further classifies entry as specific and general entry. A specific entry mentions a specific document where as general entry do not mention any specific document. AACR2 defines it as, "a record of an item in a catalogue".
